 The Government of Sierra Leone is in the process of rebuilding and
improving the institutions of government. The Government has identified
Public Procurement as an area that needs urgent attention to overcome
widespread allegations of corrupt practices and inefficiencies, and to
build trust in the system. An efficient public procurement system will
ensure value for money of government spending, which is essential in a
country that faces enormous challenges recovering from a decade-long
civil war.
